Configure General Settings

Before starting the performance appraisals for employees some general settings need to be configured. The admin can configure these settings.

To configure the general settings:

  1. On the PW Admin menu, under Performance Management, click Performance Management Admin.

The General Setting page appears .The general settings displayed are:

Trigger Days (Days after the DOJ)

Enter the number of days to allow the application to trigger Assessment template number of days from the days of scheduled session

Select the type of template i.e. Template Type 1 and Template Type 2

Enter the no of days for confirmation after probation

Confirmation Extension

Select whether confirmation extension is specific to an employee or uniform at the organizational level

Confirmation Approver Levels

Select the confirmation appropriate approver levels. By default HR check box will get selected.

  • If REV approval is required, select REV check box

  • If RO approval is required, select RO check box

  • If Employee approval is required, select Employee check box.

Performance Assessment Settings

  1. In Eligibility for PMS option, if Admin selects Confirmation type check box then he needs to choose the confirmation types present in EDM to find the eligibility for the flow.

  2. If Admin selects Date of Joining check box, then the current flow will be followed where the admin enters the no of days after DOJ from when the employee will be considered for appraisal

Enter the no of days after DOJ from when the employee will be considered for appraisal

Approver Levels

Select the appropriate approver levels valid for the appraisal

  • If REV approval is required for the appraisal, select REV check box

  • If RO approval is required for the appraisal, select RO check box

  • If Employee Agreement is selected then the employee can accept or reject RO Assessment

  • If Self-assessment is required for the appraisal, select Self-Assessment check box

  • If Multiple Approvers  approval is required for the appraisal, select Multiple Approval check box

Max no of iterations between RO and Employee

Enter the maximum number of iterations between employee and manager for goal setting in the Max no of iterations between RO and Employee text box

Score Settings

Select the appropriate score settings valid for the appraisal

  • If RO score round off is required for the appraisal, select RO Score Round Off

  •  If REV score round off is required for the appraisal, select REV Score Round Off

  • If employee score round off is required for the appraisal, select Employee Score Round Off

  • If RO score has be visible for the employee, select RO Score Visible to Employee

  • If REV score has be visible for the employee, select REV Score Visible to Employee

Final Score

In Final Score option, select the Actual Score or Average Score radio button

Goal Assessment Settings

Unlimited Iterations for Goal Setting

If Employee wish to revise the objectives anytime before the assessment, select Yes radio button.

If No radio button is selected, the objectives cannot be revised.

Is Target and weightage required in Goal Setting and Assessment

Select Yes option to include the targets and weightages in goal setting and assessments.

  • If Yes is selected, one more option “Is Target required?” appears. The options available are: Performance, Competency and Skills. Select the required parameters.

  • If No is selected, targets and weightages will be excluded in goal setting and assessments.

Is Goal Setting Status required?

Click Yes to include the goal setting status or Click No to exclude the goal setting status.

Is Self-Development section required in Goal Setting screen?

Choose Yes radio button to include self-development goal in the goal setting and assessment or choose No to exclude self-development goal in the goal setting and assessment.

Is Dual Reporting Required?

Click Yes to map the dual reporting option. The additional approver will be mapped under PW Admin > Performance Management System >  Additional Approver page.

  • If Yes is selected, one more option “All Managers Review Same KRA?” is displayed.

  • Choose Yes or No option based on the requirement.

  • Click No to unmap the dual reporting option.

Goal Setting for New Employee required?

  • If Yes is selected, enter the number of days in the Goal Setting Period from DOJ (Days)

The goal setting cycle should be available for all the new employees from the date of joining

  • If No is selected, Goal Setting Period from DOJ (Days) text box will not get displayed

Does employee need closing reminder after goal submission?

  • Click Yes if employee needs closing reminder after the goal submission.

  • Click No if no reminder is required after the closure of the goal submission.

Is Goal Review required?

Click Yes if goal review is required, else click No.

Sub-Parameters required?

If Sub-Parameters Required check box is selected, employees and RO will be able to view and rate against each parameters and sub-parameters

Goal Setting Period for changes in employee Organization details (Days)

Enter the time frame before which changes in the employee organization details should be updated.

Max no of iterations between Reporting officer and Employee for Goal Setting/ Goal Review

Enter the maximum number of iterations between employee and manager for goal setting in the Max no of iterations between Reporting Officer and Employee for Goal Setting / Goal Review text box.

# of User defined Columns

Enter the number of user defined columns required. Also enter the column name and select the parameters (Performance, Competency and Skills) required.

Multirater evaluators are selected by

Click the appropriate option whether the employee should select the evaluator or Reporting officer.

Multirater Evaluator's are selected

Click the appropriate option depending on whether the employee can choose his/her evaluators from his peers, subordinates, Vendors and Customers with or without RO Approval

Maximum number of evaluators

Enter the maximum no of evaluators for Peer, Subordinate and Manager

  1. Click SAVE to save the settings.

  2. Click CANCEL to cancel the setting made.

Note 1:  If the Admin selects both the options i.e. ‘Confirmation type’ and ‘Date of Joining’ then the both the criteria have to be met for eligibility of the PMS workflow.

Note 2:  As an Admin you can set the goal setting configuration for the new employee based on Date of joining so that the employee will be able to set the Goals within 30 days of joining the company.

Note 3: The regular appraisal cycle Goal setting work flow will have to be followed with the calendar setting being triggered based on the DOJ.

Note 4:  Only those employees who have the particular status will be triggered with the work flow for appraisal.

Note 5:  Based on the number in the Max no of iterations between RO and Employee, the Approve and reject option for manager will be enabled.

For example:  If the value is given as 2 then after the second iteration between the employee and manager, the final option available for the manager will be only to approve.
