Viewing Components
To view salary components:
On the PW Admin menu, under CTC, click Component.
The list of salary components appears.
The salary component details displayed are:

Field |
Description |
Component name |
Displays the name of the component as used in the corresponding database |
Display Name |
Displays the name of the component as displayed to PeopleWorks users This is name displayed for the component on the pay slip For example, Basic, HRA, Allowance |
Category |
Displays the category of the component - Fixed or Flexible

Planning type |
Displays the frequency of planning allowed for the component – Monthly, or Yearly |
Proportionate type |
Displays whether the component is Prorated, Non-prorated or Non-proportionate Prorated -If the component is calculated from the date of joining of the employee till the financial year end, it is termed prorated Non-prorated - If the component is calculated from the month the employee joins the organization till the financial year end, it is termed non-prorated Non-proportionate - If the component is calculated from the financial year beginning to the financial year ending as defined for the organization, it is termed non-proportionate |
Pay-out type |
Displays how often this component is paid out to the employee - Monthly, Quarterly, Half-yearly or Annually |
Outside CTC |
Displays whether this component is outside the CTC Some components are not part of the pay slip but are shown under the CTC breakup. For example, Mediclaim, gratuity |
Round off |
Displays whether the calculated amount for this component is rounded off as well as the amount rounded off for the component |
Active |
Displays whether the component is active -Yes or No If active, it is available for selection where relevant in the Compensation submenus, else it is not available |
Header |
Displays whether the defined item is a header - Yes or No If it is a header, it will have no other properties or value and it will just appear in bold as the header for a set of components. |
