Applying for Leave Grant
A leave grant refers to a grant or credit of leave, for certain types of leaves that are previously not credited to you.
For example, if you want to avail a compensatory off for working on a weekend, you should apply for leave under the leave type Compensatory Off.
However, this leave will need your manager’s and HR department’s approval.
When your manager and HR approve the leave, the leave is credited to you under the leave type Compensatory Off.
Therefore, you should first apply for a leave grant and after approval, you should re-apply the leave under the type Compensatory Off and then your team lead or reporting manager must approve the leave application.
If your leave grant application is rejected, you cannot avail the leave.
To apply for a leave grant:
In the home page, do any of the following:
In the My Self grid box, click My Leave, and then on the left navigation pane of the Apply/Cancel leave page, click Apply for leave grant.
On the My Self menu, under My Leave, click Apply for leave grant.
The Apply for leave grant page appears displaying your leave grant applications.

Click Apply for Leave Grant.
The Apply for leave grant window appears.
In the Leave Type drop-down box, select the leave type.
The Approver drop-down box is auto-populated with the approver’s name.
Click the From Date box , and on the calendar, select the date from when you want to apply leave.
In the corresponding drop-down box, select the session for which you are applying leave.
Click the To Date box , and on the calendar, select the date up to when you want to apply leave.
Note 1: According to the configuration set
in PW Admin>> Leave Admin>>
Applicability, user can set the days to allow the employees to
apply the leave. i.e.: only for the configured days, employees can apply
the leave.
Note 2: In the PW Admin>>
Leave Admin>> Applicability page, if the user has selected
“Compensatory off” as the leave type and have selected the credit policy
and other 6 parameters and under “Selected day (s)” drop down box if “Saturday”
is selected then user who belongs to selected parameter can apply Compensatory
off only on Saturday.
Note 3: If User has selected “Casual leave” from the Leave
Type drop down box and set “Tuesday and Wednesday from the Selected Day (s) drop down box in
the Add Leave Applicability Mapping window and when employee applies casual
leave on Monday which is not set for this leave type then system will
validate “Leave cannot be applied on the selected day (s)”.
Note 4: In the Leave Attribute>>Leave
Admin>> PW Admin if “Link to marital status” is selected
as “Yes” against maternity leave and for the employee marital status is
selected as “Single” in general info page and if that employee wants to
apply maternity leave in ‘Leave Grant’ page or in ‘Apply/Cancel Leave’
page then system will validate the message “You are not eligible to apply
for this leave type”.
In the corresponding drop-down box, select the session for which you are applying leave.
The fields are refreshed and the Days field displays the number of days you have applied for leave.
In the Approver list box, select the approver who has to approve this leave.
In the Reason text box, enter the reason for the leave application.
Click Submit.
The leave application is submitted to your team lead / manager.
Note: To exit without submitting the leave application, click Cancel.
To withdraw a leave grant application:
On
the list of leave records, click
on the unapproved leave application you want to withdraw.
The leave application is withdrawn and the record is removed from the list of leave records.
Note: If the manager have approved and the HR is yet to take action on the leave grant request, the Status column remains as Applied only.
